The CARION ensemble from Denmark brings fresh air into the classical scene. With its one-of-a-kind way to present classical masterpieces, the brass ensemble impressed at the international classics fair “Classical:NEXT“ in Munich. CARION was chosen by a top-class panel to perform as one of the popular live acts. The five excellent instrumentalists play all their works by heart and are therefore able to have intensive eye contact not only within the ensemble, but also with the audience. The quintet visualises the inner structure of the compositions with musically sensed movements on stage.
Classical music thus becomes approachable and an auditory and visual enjoyment. This innovative approach also convinced the Bayerischer Rundfunk (Bavarian Broadcasting Organisation), which put CARION at the centre of its reporting about Classical:NEXT. In the next season, the ensemble puts forward some exciting programmes: a great virtuoso play à la Paganini and Liszt, a tingling musical wine tasting with compositions from France, Portugal, Germany and Latin America, Danish delicacies with Nielsen and Koppel and their first through-composed stage performance: „Black & White“.
